Policy Statement

 

Gasco Traffic Ltd. Understands that its activities could have an adverse effect on the environment. It therefore aims to minimise the impact its activities have on the environment and safeguard the environment from unacceptable risks.


Continual improvement is something that the organisation strives for. It wishes to see year on year reduction (normalised) in its carbon output and waste going to landfill


The company will put in place a management system to ensure:

• The display and communication of an environmental policy which complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO                              14001:2015, with commitment from the top of the organisation 

• The provision of the policy and supporting material at induction, to its supply chain and any third party upon request.

• Identification of roles and responsibilities and lines of communication 

• The provision of maintained and serviced plant, work equipment and measures to control or reduce the impact of                          environmental incidents

• The provision of appropriate information, training and suitable supervision based on the level of risk

• Procurement and use of the least harmful substances and materials, with work methods considered for use, handling and            storage 

• Reduction of material disposed and where possible an increase of reuse and recycling 

• Procurement and use of recycled and sustainable materials where economically viable

• Use of approved suppliers

• The provision of Environmental advice and assistance

• Plan environmental management into our activities through identification and assessment of environmental aspects and              impacts and development of appropriate controls

• The setting of environmental objectives and targets

• Investigation of environmental incidents and accidents, implementing preventative action where necessary

• Compliance with all relevant legal requirements and codes of practice

• Periodic review of the Environmental Management System and policy to ensure they remain achievable, relevant and                    credible. 

• Measuring Performance using key performance indicators (KPI) and setting SMART goals

• The provision of adequate resources to deliver the policy requirements


Everyone undertaking works for the organisation is expected to support and promote this policy and procedures made thereunder, complying with their requirements and duties.
